KAT Vienna is the artistic practice of Katharina Schuldner, unfolding between sound, language, object and presence.The work moves across different forms, from voice and electronic sound to installations, minimal interventions, situations placed within physical and digital space, and audio-visual works.Rather than producing fixed works, the practice creates conditions in which something can emerge:through listening
through absence
through the quiet persistence of what remains.Some works invite attention, as in listening spaces, where sound becomes a moment of pause and perception.Others unfold in time through moving image and voice, or withdraw from attention, as in unheld works where objects, texts or sounds are placed without explanation, without promotion and without demand.Across all formats, the work explores what happens
when nothing is forced to resolve,
when meaning is not fixed,
and when something is allowed to exist without being held.
